Water

Water is one of the most precious things on this planet. Everything that is in the air or on the land is eventually washed in to the ocean, local water ways or lakes.

Something just as simple as pumping water (putting it under pressure) through a pipe to our homes changes the physical nature of water.

Because a wide variety of prescription drugs are turning up in lakes and rivers, scientists are concerned about a potential environmental impact. Some scientists think the pharmacological concoction could be causing disturbing changes to aquatic life. In some cases, male rainbow trout are starting to become more female.

A survey, performed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) revealed a list of compounds including the painkillers acetaminophen and ibuprofen, prescription medicines for cardiac disorders and hypertension, and female sex hormones used in birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy in ground water. With every drink we take all these chemicals are recycled back through our bodies.

This is one area that we need an obvious solution. Nature cannot handle a pill popping society as we have become.

Agriculture has caused an over abundance of nitrate fertilizers which are running off into our lakes, streams and oceans. This is creating dead zones in some areas because of the increased algae growth. We must find a balance and new approaches for growing food supplies.

We need specialists who can find ways of undoing the damage that has been created. Filtered, structured or clustered water remains only a partial answer for us individually. We need to solve the problem of large bodies of polluted water.

Much of the marine life is finding great difficulty in surviving. Many animals are beaching themselves and others just dying from lowered immunity systems. If we don't turn this situation around soon, there will be very little life left on this planet.
