Some weeks ago I watched talk show host Oprah Winfrey’s television show on DEPRESSION. Oprah had a young wife and mother on the show who had been depressed for some time, who drove to a bridge and climbed up the rail to jump off. A law enforcement man drove up, ran to her, and saved her from jumping to her death.
According to an article published in the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper on October 1, 2006:
“...Reports on the number of Americans afflicted by depression range from 17.4 million to 40 million, a huge variation precisely because as many as half of all sufferers fail to seek help.”
While many of us are enjoying the Holiday Season, there are others who for many reasons are feeling depressed and overwhelmed. The article below suggests many reasons WHY people are depressed.
I am discussing this serious problem because today I spoke with a very good friend who told me her ex-husband had committed suicide three days ago, in the early hours of Thanksgiving Day. The Holiday Season can have an extra depressing effect on people who are already feeling overwhelmed, who may be isolated or alone, who are ill, who are financially stressed, or who cannot find reasons to live.
Many people do not know about NESARA and what NESARA will bring that will HELP them. There are very special benefits NESARA will bring for those who are depressed, ill, unemployed, financially impoverished, or overwhelmed by other life circumstances.
There are wonderful benefits NESARA brings which will literally turn peoples’ lives around in many beneficial ways.

3. Because NESARA abolishes unconstitutional states of emergency, NESARA’s public announcement declares “peace”. US military in Iraq and Afghanistan are immediately recalled to the USA.
4. As partial remedy for 90 years of government and banking fraud, NESARA requires zeroing out of credit card balances and bank debt relief be given to Americans.
5. Initiates the US Treasury Bank System with new U.S. Treasury currency backed by gold. The Federal Reserve is abolished; Federal Reserve facilities and most personnel are absorbed into the US Treasury Bank System.
6. Abolishes Income Taxes in US and creates a national sales tax on new, non-essential items as revenue for government. Essential items such as food and medicine, and used items, are exempt from the sales tax.

AMERICA IN A FUNK: CLOUD HANGS OVER US

Privacy was once a guarded commodity. Human frailties were rarely declared unless you were Woody Allen and could profit from such neuroses.
No longer. People announce that they're on antidepressants as casually as they once proclaimed they were on diets. Which they are. Both regimens try to eliminate the dross.
Analysts speak of specific markets being depressed, automakers, for example, or industries being anxious and in turmoil, such as the one that produces what you're reading at this moment.
Increasingly, it seems that the problem has become bigger. It seems as though the whole country is depressed.
It's hard to surmise how many Americans are depressed because the symptoms are so generic. Pessimism? Check. Significant change in sleeping? Check. Loss of energy, ability to concentrate? Uh, yeah.
The list sounds suspiciously like the manifestations of middle age, which, alas, there are altogether too many sufferers - 75 million - experiencing existential crises for one nation's good. There aren't enough red sports cars to go around, and chocolate can do only so much.
Americans are precocious about unhappiness. Children face unprecedented pressure to excel while the college admissions process resembles a martial art drowning in heartache.

The rest of America has to live with them. Or work with them. Everyone's at risk for secondhand blahs.
The number of dispensed prescriptions for insomnia medications has almost doubled since 2001, according to IMS, a pharmaceutical information and consulting company. Antidepressant sales, reaped from a burgeoning medicine cabinet of choice, are on track to be the highest ever this year.
It can't help that the country was attacked, that the chief attacker continues to taunt, or that America's in a war that's being lost.
It can't help that a country, long perceived as a "winner," is being globally criticized for failed policies. Or that the country, once economically dominant, is being overshadowed by India and China, and our toys, including the red sports cars, are coming from elsewhere.
It can't help that the economy is stagnant. Most citizens, when they adjust for inflation, are no better off financially than they were 10 years ago, while the richest people are astonishingly so.
It can't help that President Bush and his staff exploit every opportunity to keep us scared, using rhetoric soaked in terror and fear, or that everything is a potential terrorist target, even petting zoos and the Amish Popcorn Factory.
Every day, in gestures large and small, there's evidence that people aren't happy. Personal debt is real for almost half of all people with credit cards, according to the Federal Reserve. They're living consistently beyond their means.
Working in businesses under siege, where the principal policy initiative is to cut while demanding more, creates systemic unhappiness. There's increasing road rage and the need to run red lights, drivers incensed simply because someone has zipped past them. Airline travel, once a gateway to freedom, is a chronic nightmare, run by depressed workers and used by increasingly hostile passengers.
E-mail becomes more vituperative by the day - mine certainly does - with people unleashing screeds over the smallest issues, addressing strangers in a hostile manner that they would never use with friends. Far too many blogs are fueled by snarky humor, riddled with nasty comments aimed at anyone more successful.
There's malaise in much of the culture, a lack of creativity and energy, producing lackluster work that leaves patrons even grumpier.
We're depressed, no question. Now, short of putting Zoloft in the drinking water, what are we going to do about it?
